During my IUT, i worked multiple times with Axibio. First with a month long internship and then working freelance for them.
During my time with them, i developped a simple biowaste pallet tracker system and a simple filesharing website.
Before my system, Biowaste pallets in this specific group of cities in France were tracked with color stickers. Drivers would put the specific color stickers on pallets before loading them to their truck.
To track the pallets, i designed and developped an Android Application using Java to scan NFC tags, and communicate with the servers. Locations and pallets were identified by NFC tags, and when moving pallets, drivers needed to badge the location badge then all the pallets they would load or unload. And then the pallets where weighed still with the app.
The other part of the system was a PHP API and a SQL database. Driver’s phones would save with the server the movements.
Then, the Axibio team could download a csv that will recap the information about all the different clients and their biowaste quantities.
Axibio’s clients could also login and download their monthly recap of their biowaste emissions.
I was a beginner developper at this stage, and was only one year out of high school, but managed to put together a working solution that was used for a couple of years.
This system was deeply flawed, but it was the first project i really worked on, and was glad i could have a project like that in production for so long.
